The attack caused the entire airport to be evacuated and all operations suspended. A fire was reported in Terminal 3.

Israel confirmed that 80 warplanes carried out a large-scale attack on Tehran throughout the night, while continuing to target the regime in Lebanon and the terrorist organization Hezbollah.

Nighttime targets in Iran included a military university, ballistic missile storage facilities, and missile launches.

Explosions were reported in Tehran and central Iran.

As the Middle East war entered its eighth day, an American bomber plane landed in England after the USA warned of an “increase” in attacks against Iran.

The 146ft B-1 Lancer arrived at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire on Friday evening after Sir Keir Starmer gave permission for US ‘defensive’ action against Iranian missile sites at UK bases.

Questions remain over Britain’s future role in the conflict, with Foreign Secretary David Lammy suggesting RAF jets could legally strike Iranian missile sites used to attack British interests in the Middle East.

Sir Keir defended the decision not to allow America to use British bases in its opening attack on the Tehran regime, suggesting it could be unlawful and arguing that the Government should ‘act calmly’.

The prime minister agreed on Sunday to allow the United States to strike Iran defensively from Fairford and Diego Garcia, an island in the Indian Ocean.

Qatar officials said the country’s defense systems had successfully thwarted a missile attack, minutes after the Iranian President promised an end to attacks on countries in the region.

Qatar’s Ministry of Defense issued a ‘high threat’ warning to those in the country before sending a second message informing citizens that a missile had been seized.

This comes after Iranian President Pezeshkian apologized for attacking his neighbors and promised to end the attacks.

Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian apologized this morning for launching attacks against his neighbors in the region and vowed to stop the attacks he launched in the Middle East overnight.

In his statements on Saturday morning, he said that Iran’s interim leadership council had approved the suspension of attacks on these countries unless there is an attack on Iran from neighboring countries.

The announcement comes as Iran continues to launch attacks in the region in response to US-Israeli attacks on the Islamic Republic.

Pezeshkian also described America’s demand for ‘unconditional surrender’ as ‘a dream they should take to their graves’.

Pezeshkian said:

I apologize to neighboring countries.

Azerbaijan said it had foiled several ‘terrorist’ acts of sabotage planned by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including a plan to attack a major oil pipeline running from the South Caucasus to Türkiye.

The targets included the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline, the Israeli embassy in Azerbaijan, an Ashkenazi synagogue and the leader of an ancient Jewish community in Azerbaijan called the Mountain Jews, according to a State Security Service statement cited by the Azertag state news agency late Friday.

Azerbaijan’s statement came just a day after Baku vowed to retaliate after four Iranian drones attacked a residential area in Nakhchivan, injuring four people and damaging airport infrastructure. Iran has publicly denied sending drones to Azerbaijan.

Baku said that the investigation revealed that two Iranian citizens and one Azerbaijani citizen secretly agreed to bring more than seven kilograms of C-4 explosives to Azerbaijan on the instructions of the Revolutionary Guards. Authorities issued international arrest warrants for four people.

Iran did not make any comment regarding this statement.

Fires and explosions were seen at Mehrabad International Airport, the capital of Iran, as part of the ‘large-scale’ new wave of attacks throughout the night.

Following Iran’s drone attacks, Dubai airport was evacuated and completely closed.

The explosions occurred at around 8am local time (4am GMT) near Dubai International Airport.

A fire broke out near the complex and two emergency alerts were sent to passengers’ mobile phones.

Dubai authorities were quick to claim there were ‘no incidents’ at the airport, but confirmed a drone was successfully intercepted and no injuries were reported.

Damage from debris dropped in the drone strike was visible after a small fire started at the edge of the passenger walkway in busy Terminal 3, where Emirates flights operate.

All flights were stopped around 10 a.m. local time (6 GMT) and police cars blocked all entrances to the airport, causing traffic chaos.

Other loud explosions were heard 30 miles away off the coast of Ras Al-Khaimah.

Airline Emirates said it was briefly suspending all flights to and from Dubai.

The war in Iran entered its second week on Saturday amid renewed uncertainty about how and when hostilities will end after US President Donald Trump said he would only accept Tehran’s “unconditional surrender”.

Trump’s comments on social media on Friday came just hours after Iran’s president announced that unnamed countries had begun mediation efforts, raising the possibility of a diplomatic solution, albeit tenuous.

The administration has claimed it could achieve all of its goals in Iran within four to six weeks, but the outcome Trump was hoping for, defined as Iran no longer posing a threat, remains unclear.

But there is no sign of the conflict ending any time soon, with Trump threatening to unleash the ‘big one’; This is thought to represent a major increase in attacks on the region.

On social media on Friday, Trump said:

Iran has launched a series of furious retaliatory attacks across the Middle East; It launched a series of attacks on Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Israel that left the region in flames.

Following warnings of possible attacks on hotels, US-led troops hit several potential attacks on the Kurdish city of Erbil, while drones hit oil facilities and airports in Iraq.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a network of Iran-backed Shiite groups, has claimed to have launched an attack on a US military base near Baghdad Airport ‘as punishment’ for the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Israel and Iran continued to exchange fire throughout the night and the IDF confirmed that Lebanon had launched a new wave of attacks against ‘terrorist targets’ in Beirut’s Dahiyeh District as the war entered its eighth day.

In the statement made by the Tasmin news agency affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, it was stated that Iran launched its twenty-third attack round after the IDF reported that missiles were detected coming from the region towards Israel.
