Angel Reese calls out fake quote

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has called out a fake quote attributed to her that was posted on social media on Saturday.
The post on It seemed a bit contrary to Reese’s intelligence.

“Here we go again. The rent must be due,” he wrote in response.
Reese is set to enter the WNBA for her third season, but it’s unclear when the year will begin as the players union and the league have yet to agree on a new collective bargaining agreement.
For now, Reese is competing with Team USA in the FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifying matches. The Americans defeated Italy 93-59 on Saturday. Reese had 5 points and 7 rebounds in the win.
He averaged 7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1 steal per game in three qualifying games. They had 6 points against Senegal and 10 points against Puerto Rico.

Reese entered the WNBA in 2024 and the Sky selected her with the 7th overall pick of the draft. He was an All-Star in each of his first two seasons. He averaged 14.1 points and 12.9 rebounds in 64 games in his career.
The clock is ticking to get a new CBA deal done, otherwise the start of the 2026 season could be delayed.
WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert said progress in negotiations and an agreement must be reached by Monday to avoid any possible disruption.

“I’ve never been a betting woman in my life and I’m not going to start now. But we have to make a deal by Monday,” Engelbert said on Friday. “We’ve got to do this without spoiling the fact that we have to run this two-team expansion (draft). We’ve got to get the expansion going. We’ve got to get free agency going. We’ve got to get the college draft going.”
