JPMorgan breaks silence on the Lorna Hajdini sexual abuse case: ‘extensive internal probe reveals…’

During Lorna Hajdini’s sexual misconduct trial, JPMorgan, which was part of the case, vehemently denied the allegations.

On Monday, a former JPMorgan employee, under the pseudonym John Doe, accused Hajdini of turning her into a “sex slave” by drugging her with Rohypnol and Viagra and threatening to withhold her bonus if she did not comply.

One lawsuit even alleged that the 37-year-old managing director on JPMorgan’s leveraged finance team showed up at Rana’s home unannounced and forced her to have sex.

However, the court document was later withdrawn for “corrections”.

What JPMorgan said about the incident

A bank spokesman declined to comment on Doe’s identity, stating that an extensive internal investigation conducted by its HR team and in-house legal counsel, including a review of phone records and emails, found no evidence to substantiate the allegations.

According to the New York Post, it was later revealed that the employee, Chirayu Rana, filed a lawsuit under the name John Doe.

“Following an investigation, we do not believe there is any merit to these allegations,” the spokesman said. “While multiple employees cooperated with the investigation, the complainant refused to participate and refused to present facts that would be central to supporting her allegations.”

What did Hajdini say about the incident?

Hajdini’s lawyers said in a statement via The Post: “Lorna categorically denies the allegations. She never engaged in any inappropriate behavior with this person and did not even go to the location where the alleged sexual assault occurred.”

Rana had filed an internal complaint in May 2025 alleging racial and gender-based harassment and abuse of power before trying to negotiate a payout running into “millions” to leave the company, according to sources close to the development.

Prior to joining JPMorgan, Rana had an extensive career in finance, holding positions at Houlihan Lokey, Credit Suisse, TCG Capital Markets, Morgan Stanley and The Carlyle Group.

He currently serves as a principal at Bregal Sagemount, a New York-based investment firm led by former Goldman Sachs executive Gene Yoon and focused on sectors such as software, digital infrastructure, health IT and financial services.
