Rihanna targeted in alleged drive-by shooting at Beverly Hills home

Rihanna’s star status nearly cost her her life last weekend during an attempted shooting at her home in Beverly Hills.
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz allegedly went to the “Diamonds” singer’s mansion and fired multiple shots into the house with a semi-automatic weapon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Ortiz, 35, was charged with attempted murder on Tuesday and faces life in prison if convicted of those charges.
Following the shooting, cryptic posts on Ortiz’s social media channels were uncovered, providing an eye-opening look at overbearing celebrity fans.

According to Ortiz’s Facebook account, the self-employed suspect called out Rihanna just a few weeks before the attack.
“@badgalriri — Are you there?” he wrote. “Because I was waiting for your 5-headed AIDS-infected self to tell me something directly, instead of sneaking around like you were talking to me where I wasn’t around.”
Ortiz wrote in a Dec. 20 post that he was “already done with Rihanna,” then referenced another A-list star.

“I restricted that stupid b— Kim Kardashian,” he wrote. “It’s your turn to hide b—-, stop begging for a look.”
Additionally, Ortiz hosted a daily devotional for 60 days on his YouTube channel. Ortiz reads scriptures in his videos and often referred to the existence of the devil.

“The presence of God is here, but the devil is also here,” Ortiz said in a video released in January. “That’s what we need to emphasize. Sometimes we think these are just trials and tribulations, but we need to know and understand that we have an enemy. You have an enemy. There is an enemy… someone who wants to attack you. There is someone who wants to see you lose. There is someone who wants to kill you.”
“This is the devil and I rebuke him in the name of Jesus,” he continued. “I will not let him take my honor, my personality, my character, or my heart… This is Satan. He wants to kill something beautiful, just like his Rihanna.”
Ortiz was charged with one count of attempted murder, 10 counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and three counts of shooting into an inhabited dwelling or camper, a felony.

His bail was set at $1.875 million. Ortiz faces life in prison if convicted.
“Opening a shooting in any populated neighborhood is extremely dangerous, puts lives at risk, and will be fully prosecuted,” said Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman. “Thankfully, no one was injured in this attack, but this careless violence will not be tolerated in our society. Such hitmen will find their next destination in our jails and prisons.”

Rihanna seeing an unwanted visitor is nothing new by Hollywood standards. Many celebrities, including Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber, have faced similar disturbing encounters.
During the worldwide “Wicked: For Good” press tour, Grande was greeted by an overzealous fan at the Singapore premiere.
The shocking moment happened as Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh and Jeff Goldblum walked the yellow carpet to celebrate the release of the second “Wicked” movie.
According to multiple videos, a fan attending the premiere jumped over a barricade and ran toward Grande. from the incident. When he reached her, he put his arm around Grande’s co-star Cynthia Erivo’s neck and immediately jumped in to pull her away.

The “7 Rings” singer got an unwanted surprise in 2022 from a stalker who violated a restraining order and broke into her Montecito home on her 29th birthday. TMZ.
Aharon Zebulun Israel Brown pleaded guilty to stalking charges in 2024 and was sentenced to three years in prison.
Justin Bieber had numerous followers, including a New Mexico man and his nephew who planned to kill and castrate the pop singer in 2013.

The scheme began after a man in prison tried to contact Bieber and received no response. According to reports, he then recruited his nephew and another man to drive him to the “Love Yourself” singer’s home and castrate him with garden shears before killing him.

In a social media post in 2020, Bieber clearly expressed his feelings towards the people waiting in front of his house.
“How can you convince yourself that waiting in front of my house to gawk, stare, and take photos as I enter my apartment is not completely inappropriate and disrespectful,” he wrote at the time. “This is not a hotel. This is my home.”
Taylor Swift has had a huge following throughout her career. Recently, a Brooklyn man followed the singer through her New York home and “multiple states,” according to police. The man was arrested on July 2 and charged with “stalking and criminal trespass.”
