Six held for selling adulterated paneer and dairy products; two arrested in pickle unit bust

Six people were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly supplying and selling adulterated and unhygienic paneer and dairy products in Secunderabad. In another incident, two people who were running an illegal pickle production facility in Jiyaguda were arrested.
In the first case, the accused were identified as Jaipal Singh Rajpurohit, Kolariya Vaibhav, Naresh Kolariya, Prem Anil Vyas, Ram Kishore Kolariya and Laxmi Narayana Kolariya.
According to officials, sleuths of Khairatabad District Commissionerate Task Force along with a food safety officer carried out a surprise inspection near Ganges Bazaar near Mahankali Temple. Six wholesale and retail outlets were inspected during the raid and the accused allegedly procured paneer and other dairy products from unknown sources and sold them in bulk to hotels, catering services and local shops.
Officials said the products were stored in open plastic covers and were exposed to dust, flies and other contaminants, making them unfit for consumption. The products reportedly lacked basic labeling details such as brand name, production date and expiration date, and no pest control records were kept.
A total of 3,892 kg of dairy products worth around Rs 11.1 lakh, including paneer, khoa, white cream, ghee and kalakand, were seized during the operation.
The accused and the seized materials were handed over to Mahankali police station for further action.
In a separate case, Kulsumpura police arrested two persons who were running an adulterated pickle manufacturing plant in Jiyaguda. The defendants were identified as N. Narsimha (54) and N. Naresh (45), who live in Jiyaguda.
The police said that while the unit was on patrol in Venkateshwara Nagar, the accused were found preparing pickles in unhygienic conditions, using spoiled vegetables and low-quality raw materials. The products were allegedly sold to local stores at low prices.
Police seized 72 barrels of various pickles, 6 barrels of tomato and tamarind paste, 1 barrel of ginger and garlic paste and a weighing machine from the facility. A case has been registered at Kulsumpura police station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and further investigation is on.
