Trump breaks silence on death of ‘supporter’ Chuck Norris at 86: ‘He was a really good tough cookie’

President Donald Trump has broken his silence on the death of ‘tough cookie’ martial arts icon and actor Chuck Norris at the age of 86.

He was a great man. It was a really good, tough cookie. “We didn’t want to fight him,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

‘And he was a huge supporter. “Wow, that’s terrible,” he said in reaction to the news of his death.

Norris supported Trump in the 2016 election and publicly backed him during his candidacies in 2020 and 2024.

The legendary actor passed away Thursday morning following a sudden medical emergency in Hawaii.

His family remembered Norris as ‘a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother and the heart of our family.’

While much of the entertainment world is known to support Democratic politicians, Norris has been clear about his support for Republicans beyond Trump.

He has publicly supported moves by Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in the past.

President Donald Trump told reporters that Chuck Norris, who died at age 86 as he left the White House on Friday, was a “really good tough cookie.”

He also supported conservative Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in past elections.

In the 2012 Republican primaries, he supported former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, following the lead of another Texan, former Governor Rick Perry.

Perry served as Trump’s Secretary of Energy during the President’s first term.

It gave former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who now serves as Trump’s ambassador to Israel, a pop culture boost during the 2008 race.

Norris starred in a video titled ‘HuckChuckFacts’. With 1.8 million views on YouTube.

‘My plan to secure the border: two words: Chuck Norris,’ Huckabee said.

Norris then came out and boasted about Huckabee’s support for the Second Amendment, touting the fact that the presidential hopeful was a lifelong hunter.

“There’s no chin behind Chuck Norris’ beard, just another fist,” Huckabee said.

The format followed the hugely popular internet meme that shared colorful facts about Norris’ power.

Norris once again supported Huckabee when he ran for President in 2016.

“Chuck Norris doesn’t approve; he tells America how it will be,” Huckabee said in the video.

Huckabee continued to support Trump, and his daughter, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, served as one of the President’s press secretaries during his first term.

Huckabee Sanders, like his father, will continue to serve as governor of Arkansas, which he currently holds.
