Clashes break out between TMC and BJP supporters in Baranagar ahead of West Bengal Assembly elections

Ahead of the high-stakes West Bengal Assembly elections, there was tension in Baranagar in North 24 Parganas district following a clash between supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC), leading to the rapid deployment of security forces to bring the situation under control.

According to police officials, security arrangements were successful in bringing the situation under control, with Barrackpore Police Commissionerate Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Dyutiman Bhattacharya stating, “The situation is under control.” Echoing similar sentiments, Baranagar Deputy Commissioner of Police (ACP) Siddhartha Singh Dangi said, “The situation is normal and we are trying to control the situation.”
