Macaulay Culkin, Brenda Song blast Alaska Airlines for separating them from kids

Macaulay Culkin’s fiancee, Brenda Song, called out Alaska Airlines after her bad travel experience with her family.
The 37-year-old actress, who shares sons Dakota, 4, and Carson, 3, with the “Home Alone” star, 45, took to social media on Saturday to blast the airline, which she claimed unexpectedly gave away her pre-booked first class seats on the day of the flight. Song said that due to the seat change, she and Culkin were separated from their two young children during the trip.
“I didn’t know when you booked your first class tickets for your family 6 months in advance… @alaskaair may give away your seats early in the morning without any warning, without separating you and your 3 and 4 year olds,” Song wrote in a post on her Instagram Story.

“We will never fly @alaskaair again, and neither should you,” “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” alum said, tagging his fiancée.

Culkin expressed his support for his fiancée’s disappointment, reposting her message on his Instagram Story and jokingly writing, “Hell hath no fury like Brenda’s scorn…”
Fox News Digital has reached out to representatives for Song and Culkin for comment.
“The experience these guests had today was unacceptable and does not reflect the care we strive to provide. We have reached out to the family to make this right,” a representative for Alaska Airlines said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“Traveling can be stressful, especially with young children, and we pride ourselves on being the best airline for families,” the spokesperson continued. “We deeply regret adding friction to the experience. We appreciate that guests have the right to choose the airline of their choice, and we take seriously our responsibility to deliver a safe, reliable and caring experience every time.”

Song’s post sparked a divided reaction online; While many fans supported the actress’ disappointment, others dismissed the situation as exaggerated.
“Brenda has a reason to be upset; these are the tickets she paid for and most importantly she didn’t want to be away from her children,” one social media user wrote on her former Twitter account
Another added: “How could they give them away if you paid for them? I’d be angry too.”
“Every parent felt the Instagram Story,” one fan wrote. “Booking 6 months in advance for your child’s birthday just to leave is a nightmare. Brenda has every right to point that out and Mac’s ‘Brenda is snubbed’ joke was the perfect touch of humor to a stressful situation.”
“Apology from Alaska Air means cp,” another chimed in. “What they did was cruel and unusual punishment for these people. Seriously? They bought these six months in advance and then just ripped them out?”

Meanwhile, several critics derided Song’s complaint as disconnected.
“It’s absolutely surprising to me that celebrities think we’re giving AF about their daily problems,” wrote one X user. “Whether he’s right to be unhappy or not, it’s not worth posting when you’re living a life of luxury. STFU”
“Boo dammit, seriously don’t beat yourself up and this #nothingburger,” another commented.
“Oh my God. How did they survive!” added one reviewer.

Culkin and Song first met at a mutual friend’s house in 2014, but reconnected and began a romantic relationship in 2017 when they starred in the 2019 comedy “Changeland.”
The couple welcomed Dakota in April 2021 and Carson in December 2022. The two later got engaged in January 2022, a source said. People at the time, the couple was “excited for their future together.”
After his years in the entertainment industry, Culkin was honored with a star. Hollywood Walk of Fame In December 2023.

While accepting the honor on stage, she thanked Song for being her “champion” and added, “The only person who is happier for me today than me is you.”
“You are the best woman I know. You are the best person I know,” he said. “You gave me all purpose. You gave me family. And after the birth of our two sons, you became one of my three favorite people.”

During an interview in 2025 people magazineSong said she, Culkin, and their children really enjoy traveling together as a family, especially now that their sons are grown.
“We took a trip to Hawaii last summer and it was a lot of fun because I think my boys are at an age now where they can really enjoy it,” the “Running Point” actor said. “They were at the beach every day, riding bikes, doing all the activities, and it was just really special. My mom and dad were there, and to me it felt like our first family vacation, like a total vacation.”

Song also shared that she likes to plan future trips and would love to visit Fiji or Japan. She explained that and that one of her favorite parts of traveling is trying different foods everywhere she goes.
“I spend a lot of time in Paris and I love French cuisine and so we had an incredible meal, I almost want to call it omakase but it’s a tasting menu that blew my mind,” he said. “I was at Joël Robuchon’s restaurant and it was my first time eating French food.”
