I worked for Andrew – one thing left me stunned | Royal | News

Former police chief Dai Davies has revealed how Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor once contacted him to discuss a security matter and made a request that left him stunned. Andrew has seen his reputation damaged by his association with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his involvement in the recent Epstein files.
The 66-year-old man was also arrested on his birthday last month on suspicion of abuse of public office. He was released a few hours later under investigation. Mr Davies, who was head of Scotland Yard’s Royal Guard from 1994 to 1998, recalled the moment that stunned him.
As reported by iPaperMr Davies recalled how Andrew had called him to discuss a security issue and requested that it be escalated to his superior.
Davies then explained to Andrew that he was responsible for security, so this could not be done.
Speaking to the publication, he added: “I found him rude and ignorant.”
Comparing Andrew to royal relatives including the current King Charles, he added: “I found the other members extremely pleasant.
“I was treated with kindness. Charles was kind. Diana, I loved him very much. When I started, [Diana] He said to me: ‘You poor man, do you know what you’re getting into?'”
Queen Elizabeth II between 1988 and 2000. Dickie Arbiter, who served as Elizabeth’s press secretary, also revealed how Buckingham Palace staff would feel about no longer having to associate with Andrew.
He said he would be relieved that the Palace no longer “had to answer” to him.
