Tiger Woods’ bleary-eyed mugshot released after golf legend’s dramatic car crash and DUI arrest

Tiger Woods has been photographed for the first time since his drink-driving arrest after police released the golf legend’s proud-eyed mug shot.
Woods, 50, was put behind bars after he tried to overtake a truck and trailer at high speed on Jupiter Island Friday afternoon, rear-ending the vehicle and tipping his own SUV.
Woods refused to provide a urine sample to officers after climbing out the passenger side window of his vehicle and was arrested for DUI, property damage and refusal to submit to legal testing.
He was transported to the Martin County Public Safety Complex where he was booked in and his final mugshot taken around 3 p.m.
Police released the photo to the public shortly after 10 p.m., showing Woods wearing a blue golf polo shirt, his eyes swollen and bloodshot.
The 15-time champion remains behind bars in Florida, with Sheriff John Budensiek previously confirming he will need to remain in jail for at least eight hours, possibly after 11pm, before being granted bail.

Speaking to reporters, the sheriff said the following about Woods’ prison sentence: ‘It doesn’t matter who you are, if you break the law, we will follow the law. This is a really easy way.
‘Now we’ll make sure he’s safe as long as he’s in prison. We will not put him in general population, he will not be with other inmates who may try to harm him or benefit from his actions.
‘He will pay the price, but he will not pay the price by being punished in prison. He was not injured. ‘He was lethargic at the scene but we think this was due to his intoxication.’
At the scene of the accident, Woods passed a breathalyzer test after showing ‘triple zero’, but later refused to provide a urine sample twice, once at the roadside and once in prison.
“He was cooperative, but he wasn’t trying to incriminate himself, so he was careful about what he said and what he didn’t say,” Sheriff Budensiek explained. ‘When it came time for a retest for the prison urine test he stopped it.

‘We were at the scene’ [Drug Recognition] Experts evaluated him and believed he was not impaired by alcohol at the scene, but they do believe it was some type of drug or narcotic. And again in prison, he cooperated with the breathalyzer, and then a urine sample was taken. [test] He didn’t want to participate.
‘He has the right to refuse this test. ‘There is a law under which he can be prosecuted for refusing to take this test, but we will never get definitive results as to what condition he was suffering from at the time of the accident.’
Woods, who lives on Jupiter Island about two miles from where the incident occurred, was involved in a similar accident in California in 2021 and was trapped under the vehicle and broke his right leg. He needed multiple surgeries to heal from his injuries.
The accident, the third he has been involved in in recent years, came just days after Woods made his highly anticipated return to golf on Tuesday night at an event where his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, watched him play.
Woods was previously photographed in a police mugshot following his arrest in 2017 after police found him unconscious in his car in Florida with five medications in his system, including two painkillers.

He later sought rehab for his painkiller addiction.
He was involved in another high-profile accident in 2009 when he crashed into a fire hydrant after being chased from his home by his then-wife Elin Nordegren, leading him to admit to multiple affairs and drug use.
Woods and Nordegren eventually divorced in 2010 but remained friends while co-parenting their children.
‘It’s great to have the relationship with him that I have now,’ Woods told Time in 2015. We both know that the most important things in our lives are our children. I wish I had known this then.’
Their 17-year-old son, Charlie, is an avid golfer and the former couple often get together to support him at events. They also have an 18-year-old daughter named Sam.
Woods has been dating Vanessa Trump for over a year; Their relationship was first reported by the Daily Mail in March 2025, after they started seeing each other around Thanksgiving 2024.
Vanessa filed for uncontested divorce from ex-husband Donald Trump Jr. in March 2018.
