Two people die after large emergency response on Newquay beach

A man and a woman died after they got into trouble at sea off a popular beach.
Two people were pulled from the water off Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall, at around 21:45 BST on Sunday, around 15 minutes after HM Coastguard said rescue personnel were called.
Devon and Cornwall Police said both were confirmed dead at the scene.
Search and rescue teams from Newquay, Padstow and St Agnes were involved in the operation, as well as lifeboats from the Newquay RNLI and a coastguard helicopter.
