Iceland volcano eruption LIVE: Families and tourists evacuated | World | News

Sundhnukur volcano on the Reykjanes Peninsula of Iceland exploded many times since December and pointed out a dramatic re -awakening after centuries of sleep.

These explosions are part of a new volcanic cycle in the region, which is guided by magma accumulated under the surface of the earth and broken from the weakened shell.

Unlike the explosive explosions seen elsewhere, Sundhnukur produces fast -moving lava flows that typically damage the infrastructure, but can pose less threats to the cult.

The nearby Grindavík town has been released many times due to the path of lava and defenses were built to protect key areas such as Svartengi Power Plant. Scientists believe that this frequent explosion model can continue for years and that people can reshape both the landscape and how people live in the region.
