BRS Responsible for Injustice towards BCs: Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: The BRS party has been responsible for systematic injustice against the Backward Classes (BCs). During their decade-long rule, the BCs achieved little or no tangible benefits. Therefore, BRS leaders lack the moral authority to speak on matters pertaining to BC’s well-being.

BRS members have displayed a consistent lack of sincerity on all matters. Industry and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu, after BRS members went on strike in the Assembly, said that this is exactly why they resorted to strike even when critical issues were being discussed in the Assembly.

According to him, if they (BRS leaders) choose to withdraw, they should do so consistently and with conviction. Leaving and re-entering the Parliament intermittently reflects political opportunism. Our people are watching this attitude closely, they should not forget this.

Unable to tolerate the government’s sincere and determined efforts towards the welfare of BC, the opposition is subjected to undue criticism. Guided by the vision of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, the government has taken a progressive step forward on BC reservations.

On the other hand, the opposition is trying to drag the process backwards just out of anger. If the opposition truly cares about BCs, it should act responsibly by offering constructive suggestions. The government remains open and willing to consider such input.

“Is merely providing funds enough to claim concern for police welfare? While our government is sincerely working for comprehensive police welfare, the allegation of inaction is illogical and unfair,” said Sridhar Babu.

“We have introduced transformative, technology-driven reforms at the transportation department, prioritizing transparency and delivering faster, more efficient public services,” he said. It was the BRS party that weakened the RTC system during its tenure. But today they are accusing the Congress government of inaction.

During the previous BRS regime, when RTC workers went on strike, not a single leader came forward to engage them. With what credibility do they talk about this topic now?

“Our government has guided the loss-making RTC towards the path of recovery and profitability. It is unfortunate that the opposition has chosen to criticize this success rather than acknowledge it,” he said.

“We still have three years left of this term and we are confident that we will return to power after this, which gives us a total of eight years to fulfill our commitments. We will definitely stand behind every promise made to our people,” the minister said.

In the upcoming national elections, the Congress Party will come to power at the Centre. Under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, we will make constitutional amendments if necessary to maintain our commitment to increase reservations for BCs.
