IndiGo revises fuel charges for domestic, international flights: Check details here
IndiGo on Wednesday announced that it will start taxing revised fuel charges. ₹275 to ₹10,000 people on domestic and international flights as of April 2, following the increase in jet fuel prices.
With the increase in fuel prices, the prices of air tickets for various domestic and international flights will also increase.
The announcement by the country’s largest airline comes on a day when aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices were revised and the government decided to only partially increase the price for domestic flights by 25 percent.
The airline has already been collecting fuel charges since March 14. ₹425 to ₹Domestic and international flight tickets increased to 2,300 due to the increase in fuel prices following the conflicts in West Asia.
Revised fuel fees for domestic flights, depending on distance, will change as follows: ₹275 to 950.
“With this clarity, IndiGo has recalibrated its domestic fuel charge to vary according to different travel distances,” the airline said in a statement.
Fuel charges for international flights will vary. ₹900 to ₹10,000 depending on distance.
“ATF prices for international operations have more than doubled in the last month, resulting in a significant impact on the airline’s operating costs on these routes,” it said in a statement.
The revised fees will be effective from 0001 time on 2 April.
While it would require significant fare revisions to fully offset the rise in fuel prices, IndiGo said it is passing on a comparatively smaller amount to customers, keeping in mind the burden it would impose on them.
