Moment Iran’s tallest bridge – and highest in Middle East – is blown to pieces in US-Israeli airstrikes ‘killing eight and injuring at least 95’

According to Iran, eight people were killed in the US-Israeli attacks that destroyed Iran’s highest bridge.
The B1 bridge, which connects Iran’s capital to the western city of Karaj, was targeted in two waves of attacks on Thursday after Donald Trump threatened to return Tehran ‘back to the Stone Age’.
Iranian state media claimed that the second attack on the 136-meter structure took place while rescue forces were at the scene to help injure at least 95 people.
Footage shows smoke lingering in the air before a massive explosion sends even thicker smoke into the sky.
The attack caused extensive damage to the bridge, which is the highest bridge in the Middle East, and a large hole can be seen in the middle of the structure.
Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi said the attack ‘merely expresses the defeat and moral collapse of an enemy in disarray’.
He added: ‘Every bridge and building will be rebuilt stronger. What will never be fixed: the damage to America’s standing.’
He later said there was a ‘striking difference’ between today and the Stone Age.
US-Israeli strikes destroy Iran’s highest bridge after Donald Trump threatens to bomb Tehran to return it to the ‘Stone Age’

‘There was no oil or gas being pumped in the Middle East at the time,’ he added.
‘Are POTUS and the Americans who put him in office sure they want to turn back the clock?’
The Iranian regime also said the capital was bombed on Thursday, including a 105-year-old sold medical facility.
Iranian health ministry spokesman Dr. Hossein Kermanpour said: ‘The attack on the Pasteur Institute of Iran, a century-old pillar of global health and a member of the international Pasteur Network, is a direct attack on international health security.’
In response to the attack, Iran threatened that Israel and bridges in the Middle East had become ‘legitimate targets’.
It came after Mr Trump assured the US that the military was close to defeating Iran and vowed to bomb the Islamic Republic ‘back to the Stone Age’.
The US President insisted the military operation to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons will not turn into an ‘endless war’ like the US quagmire in Iraq and Vietnam.
“We’re going to hit them extremely hard in the next two to three weeks,” he said at the White House.
Mr Trump said Americans no longer fear the threat of ‘nuclear blackmail’ from Tehran, thanks to the might of the US military.
‘They were the tyrants of the Middle East, but they are not tyrants anymore. ‘This is a real investment in the future of your children and grandchildren.’
The attack came after Trump assured the United States that the military was close to defeating Iran and vowed to bomb the Islamic Republic “back to the Stone Age.”
He also noted that ‘over the past four weeks our armed forces have achieved swift, decisive and overwhelming victories on the battlefield’.
Trump recalled how the United States spent years fighting in Iraq, Korea, Vietnam and two World Wars, and then pointed out that the conflict with Iran has lasted only 32 days so far.
‘We’ve been in this very powerful, very clever military operation for 32 days against one of the most powerful countries, and that country has been gutted and is essentially no longer a threat,’ he said.
Trump said the US military action was “so strong, so clever” that “one of the most powerful countries” was “really no longer a threat” even as Iran continued its attacks against Israel and its Persian Gulf neighbors early on Thursday.
‘Our enemies are losing. And America is winning, as it has for five years under my presidency – and now more than ever.’
According to The Times of Israel, Iran and Hezbollah launched rockets from Lebanon into Central Israel with the start of Passover on Wednesday and continued the attack until Thursday morning.
