Queen Elizabeth left ‘absolutely furious’ over tragic royal event | Royal | News

A new royal book, Queen Elizabeth II She revealed that Elizabeth was left “absolutely furious” following the sad death of Prince Philip. The former Duke of Edinburgh died at Windsor Castle in 2021 at the age of 99, and his wife was not with him at the time of his death.
Royal biographer Hugo Vickers says Queen Elizabeth II will be released to coincide with the late monarch’s 100th birthday in April. In her book, Elizabeth, she took a deep dive into the late monarch’s life, drawing on memoirs from rare insiders and decades of observations. While one of the biggest revelations so far has been that Prince Philip was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer in 2013, precise details have emerged about how the late Queen came to know about her husband of 73 years ago.
The biographer said that on the last night of her life, the 99-year-old royal “disallowed her nurses, shuffled along the corridor on the Zimmer frame, bought herself a beer and drank it in the Oak Room. The next morning, she got up, took a bath, said she wasn’t feeling well, and slipped away quietly.”
Vickers wrote that the late Queen did not see him before she died. “I was told that ‘he was absolutely furious that he had left without saying goodbye, as so often happens in life.'”
Vickers also claimed Philip “didn’t want to make it to his 100th birthday” [on June 10]dislike fusspots, especially at such events.”
After bidding a final farewell to “her power and her stay” at her funeral in St George’s Chapel, the late Queen returned to her private quarters at Windsor Castle with her dresser and trusted confidant, Angela Kelly.
In her book The Other Side of the Coin, Ms Kelly described exactly what happened in the moments after the ceremony. He wrote: “I helped him take off his coat and hat and nothing was said. The Queen then walked into the sitting room, closed the door behind her and was left alone with her own thoughts.”
Kelly recalled staff “preparing carefully” as they watched Prince Philip’s coffin being placed in a specially designed Land Rover that the Duke of Edinburgh also had a hand in creating.
“You could see the look of sadness on everyone’s face to see such a great and respected man make his final journey,” he says. “I am sure her thoughts were for the Queen, knowing that she had lost her husband and best friend. The nation shared the pain and their hearts went out to Her Majesty.”
