US Aims To Ban Chinese Technology In Undersea Telecommunications Cables

Washington: The Federal Communication Commission said on Wednesday that companies are planning to prevent companies from connecting submarine submarine communication cables to the US, including Chinese technology or equipment.

FCC President Brendan Carr said in a statement, “In recent years, we have seen that the submarine cable infrastructure has been threatened by xenophobia like China.” He said. “Therefore, we take action here as well as cyber and physical threats to protect our submarine cables against xenophobia.”
