Aged Women With Memory Decline Stays With Decomposed Body Of Her Husband For About A Week

BENGALUR: A 62-year-old woman named Cysil, who was suffering from age-related memory loss, reportedly spent nearly a week with her husband’s body before the foul stench emanating from the decomposed corpse spread around the area to attract the attention of a neighbor who entered the house at Subhash Nagar in Banakal in Chikkamagaluru, Mudigere, on Wednesday.
An autopsy examination was performed before the last rites of Cyril Monis (78). However, the exact date of Cyril’s death is not clear.
It is said that Cyril Monis had a stroke a year ago and suffered various health problems, while his wife Cysil’s memory has weakened over the last few years. Their son Melwin works in a factory in Bengaluru and their daughter teaches in Dubai.
A few days ago, a neighbor smelled a bad smell from Cyril’s house and warned Melwin that he was staying in Bengaluru. Banakal police arrived at the scene in a short time and encountered a rotten corpse infested with maggots.
The neighbor immediately informed Melwin about his father’s death. Police, with the help of a social worker, removed the decomposed body from the house.
The unaware Cysil objected to the transportation of her husband’s body, stating that her husband was in good health. The final rites were performed on Wednesday. Melwin visited his parents frequently to take note of their health. He last visited the house in Banakal 10 days ago.
