VPA Holds Yoga Session on Foreign Vessel

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) organized a special yoga session on the foreign ship MV Alonissos anchored at EQ-6 jetty in Visakhapatnam on Saturday as part of the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations.
Foreign crew participated in the program, which was part of the series of yoga events carried out by the port authority for a week.
VPA is organizing yoga programs with the theme “Yoga for Healthy Aging” between 15-21 June, in accordance with the guidelines published by the Ministry of Ports, Maritime Affairs and Waterways.
The week-long celebrations are being coordinated by VPA’s CISF Unit. Programs organized so far have included yoga sessions for female officers and employees, school and university students, stakeholders, commercial partners and male officers and employees.
Port officials said the initiatives have received an encouraging response from various segments of the port community.
The celebrations will culminate with a mass yoga program at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Port Sports Complex on Sunday, where a large number of participants from different departments of VPA are expected to participate.
