Pink to host 2026 Tony awards: ‘It’s the honor of an entire lifetime’ | Tony awards

The Tony awards went to Pink, the next television host from a singer known for her high-energy, physical live show.

The three-time Grammy winner will make her debut as the awards presenter at her familiar home, Radio City Music Hall, on June 7.

“It’s the honor of all life to host a night celebrating the hardest-working people in show business,” Pink said in a statement. “Broadway has shaped my life and how I put together my own shows; it’s a supportive, inclusive community full of talent and love. These people deliver magic every day, and I can’t wait to celebrate them with the world.”

Although Pink has yet to appear on Broadway, she has 10 hit songs charting at number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100; He has four No. 1 hits among them and is known for his acrobatic, roof-shaking live sets.

She added: “When I was asked to host the Tonys, I immediately thought, ‘I need to get my daughter’s permission.’ When I asked my daughter, she was really excited to be able to get a ticket to go to the Tonys, so I’m hosting the Tonys and I’m really excited and super nervous because that girl is a tough crowd!

In a statement, Tony award executive producers Raj Kapoor, Sarah Levine Hall and Jack Sussman praised Pink as “a fearless performer whose powerful voice, electrifying stage presence and undeniable originality embody the spirit of live performance and theatre.”

The 2026 awards will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+. Getting excited about appearing on broadcast television can determine a show’s future both on Broadway and on tour.

Last year’s show drew 4.85 million viewers for CBS, its biggest broadcast audience in six years, according to Nielsen data. CBS also said the awards show drew its biggest audience from Paramount+, but did not disclose those viewership numbers.

The awards are presented by the Broadway League and the American Theater Wing.
