Private Bus Rams Into Divider Near Tirupati; 34 Passengers Escape Unhurt

Nellore: A private travel bus had an accident near Nendragunta flyover in Pakala mandal of Tirupati district in the early hours of Saturday.
According to police, the bus was traveling from Bengaluru to Tirupati with around 30-34 passengers when the mishap occurred around 4 am. It was claimed that the driver tried to overtake a truck ahead but collided from behind.
The car, whose driver lost control of the steering wheel due to the impact, went off the road and crashed into the bridge railings on the opposite side. The front part of the bus was severely damaged by the severity of the collision.
Despite the seriousness of the accident, all 34 passengers miraculously escaped injury, although many were left shaken.
Pakala police immediately arrived at the scene and carried out rescue operations. While the passengers were safely evacuated and shifted to a safe location, efforts were made to clear the damaged vehicle and restore normal traffic flow on the busy Puthalapattu-Naidupeta highway.
Initial investigations indicate that the accident occurred during an unsuccessful overtaking attempt. Further investigation is ongoing.
