Davanagere bypoll: Karnataka CM’s political secretary Naseer Ahmed sacked

Following allegations of anti-party activities during the by-poll to Davanagere South Assembly seat, the Karnataka government issued a notification transferring Naseer Ahmed, MLC, from the post of Political Secretary to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Although the party’s high command is believed to have asked for Mr Ahmed’s voluntary resignation, he refused to do so. Then, on April 13, the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms issued an order relieving it of its responsibilities.
