Karnataka to convene special cabinet meeting on April 24 to discuss Scheduled Castes internal reservation

The meeting was earlier scheduled to be held on March 27 but was canceled due to the state’s model code of conduct for the April 9 bypolls in Davanagere South and Bagalkote.
With the elections now over, the government decided to organize it.
Sources said the discussion on internal reservation was necessary to fill 65,000 vacant government posts.
Sources added that there are more than 2.5 lakh vacant posts in the state and the posts cannot be filled until internal reservation is completed.
The government has decided to speed up the recruitment process due to growing unrest among unemployed youth in the state.
The state witnessed a massive agitation by government job seekers in Hubballi on February 24 this year.
