Who is Waiwan Emsawat?

Authorities believe that Wyaawan won about 385 million baht (about 102 RS) for three years with blackmail. According to the media reports, the scandal appeared in June when a Bangkok monastery suddenly left the monk. Police said he fled after blackmailing by Waiawan, who later claimed that he was his father.

A Senate Committee proposed laws to blame women who have sexual relations with monks – an offer that reacts to critics who claim that men should be equally accountable from their actions.

Scandals in the Buddhist clergy, known as Sangha in Thailand, often contain gender or money. However, in this case, the participation of such senior monks in particular exploded.
