India welcomes extension of ceasefire by US, hopes of early end to conflict: MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh

In Balrampur (UP), India, Union Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh said on Wednesday that the US welcomes the extension of the ceasefire with Iran and expressed hope that the conflict will end soon.

US President Donald Trump announced he would extend a ceasefire with Iran at the request of mediator Pakistan, saying the move was aimed at giving Tehran’s fractured leadership time to put forward a unified proposal to end the seven-week war.

“India welcomes the extension of the ceasefire by the US. We believe that this conflict will end soon. All countries, including India, are working to ensure that the conflict is resolved,” Singh said at a program here. he said.

The minister said concerns had been expressed about possible difficulties for the public due to the situation in West Asia, but assured that such a situation had not arisen under the current government.

“While fears are spreading among citizens that problems may arise, nothing of the kind has happened during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. We will not allow such problems to arise. Energy supply will also be streamlined soon,” he said.


Referring to the West Bengal elections, the minister alleged that vote bank politics was harming the country and expressed concerns over border security.
“Earlier, there were allegations of widespread irregularities in voting in West Bengal, but this time such incidents will not be allowed. The Union Home Minister has made it clear that monitoring will continue even after the elections to ensure that no one is harassed,” Singh said. he said. He appealed to voters in the state to vote without fear.

“The people of West Bengal must vote fearlessly in the assembly elections so that the state can be fully integrated into the national mainstream,” he said.

Targeting the opposition over the Women’s Reservation Bill, Singh accused them of obstructing its passage.

“The opposition is making excuses. Had the bill been passed, it would have benefited women. Renewed efforts will be made to pass the Women’s Reservation Bill in 2029.”
