M25 motorists are facing travel chaos during rush hour following a vehicle fire. All traffic was stopped and serious delays were experienced on the anti-clockwise section of the motorway from J9 A243 (Leatherhead) to J8 A217 Brighton Road (Reigate).

The first and second lanes (of four) were closed. Highway camera footage shows traffic and vehicles coming to a complete halt. Traffic service Inrix wrote: “Two lanes are closed and traffic is queuing due to a counter-clockwise vehicle fire on the M25 from J9 A243 (Leatherhead) to J8 A217 Brighton Road (Reigate). Lanes one and two (of four) are closed.” He later added: “All traffic was temporarily stopped and there were long delays due to the car fire.”
