Starmer hits back at Trump’s criticism on immigration and North Sea | News

Sir Keir Starmer has taken a firm stance against Donald Trump’s criticism of UK immigration and the North Sea.

Speaking to the BBC on Thursday (April 23), the prime minister further emphasized the need to act in the “best national interest” and vowed not to “divert or divert” when it comes to making decisions on behalf of the country.

Trump told the broadcaster that Britain, among other allies, needed to give the US more support on Iran, adding that Sir Keir could only “recover” politically if he “opened the North Sea” and curbed immigration.

Starmer responded: “I’m always here to serve the British people, to look out for their interests and to make sure I make the right decisions on their behalf.”
