Migrant Worker Killed in Blasting Mishap at Orvakal

A migrant worker from Bihar died in a blast accident during pipeline construction work on Steel Plant Road at Orvakal in Kurnool district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Purender, who was involved in a project aimed at providing water supply to Orvakal Industrial Centre.
The incident occurred while blasting work was being carried out in a mountainous area within the scope of pipeline construction.
Further details about the accident have not yet been determined. Orvakal police launched an investigation into the incident.
As fines accumulated, father set fire to his son’s bike
A rickshaw driver in Visakhapatnam allegedly set fire to the motorcycle he had purchased for his son in frustration after repeated careless driving, traffic violations and mounting financial losses.
The incident took place in Pendurthi area and sparked widespread controversy among locals. The man, a resident of Banta Colony, reportedly went into debt a year ago to buy a bicycle so that his son could attend college.
What started as support for his son’s education quickly turned into a problem. It was alleged that instead of driving responsibly, young people spent long hours driving around with friends and driving dangerously, disregarding traffic rules.
His behavior reportedly led to an accident last year and the father was forced to spend around ₹1 lakh on medical treatment. Things got worse recently when the son was fined for triple driving and the father was pushed to breaking point.
The father, who thought that the motorcycle was the reason for his son’s rebellious behavior, took the vehicle to a secluded place and set it on fire.
The surrounding people and citizens were astonished by the incident.
Police Chief died in a traffic accident
A police chief identified as Prabhu Kumar (54) died in a road accident near Ibrahimpatnam on Sunday.
According to Ibrahimpatnam police, the head constable attached to Veerulapadu police station was returning home on his motorcycle after duty when a car rammed into his vehicle from behind.
Due to the impact, he hit the roadside barrier and was seriously injured. He was transported to a nearby hospital and died there.
The police launched an investigation into the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
Two students drowned in the pond
Two students drowned in a pond near Jaggapuram Road in Yedlapadu mandal on Monday.
According to Yedlapadu police, the deceased have been identified as VII. He was identified as 12-year-old Sheikh Amrullah, a 1st grade student, and 17-year-old Sheikh Muhammad Ahmed, a first-year secondary school student.
The duo left their home around 15:00 and never returned. Family members later found clothes and slippers along with a bicycle belonging to Amrullah on the banks of the drinking water pond.
Police searched the pond, recovered the bodies and handed them over to family members. A case has been registered and investigation is ongoing.
Farmer tried to set himself on fire in office
A farmer tried to set himself on fire outside the Tahsildar’s office in Gonegandla on Monday, alleging injustice in land records.
The farmer, identified as Raghavendra, allegedly poured gasoline on himself and tried to set himself on fire. He alleged that patta land was wrongly classified as inam land during the last survey.
Raghavendra said that he had been visiting the Tahsildar’s office for the last six months to seek correction, but claimed that the officials were unable to resolve the issue despite repeated appeals.
Citizens who came to the scene intervened in time, poured water on him and prevented a possible disaster. There has been no response to the allegations yet from the authorities.
Bicycle key fight ends in murder
A petty argument over a motorcycle key allegedly ended in murder in Tadipatri town of Anantapur district late on Sunday.
According to police, deceased Abdullah had met his friends Ghouse and Karthik when an argument broke out over the duo allegedly dropping Abdullah’s motorcycle keys.
As the argument escalated, it was alleged that the duo attacked Abdullah with nearby stones and repeatedly hit Abdullah’s head and other parts of his body. The seriously injured person collapsed at the scene.
Tadipatri town police arrived at the scene upon being informed and took the body to the government hospital for autopsy.
While the suspects were detained, action was taken regarding the incident.
Jeweler was attacked, 500 grams of gold was looted
On Monday, a jewelery shop was attacked in Karampudi and around 500 grams of gold ornaments were looted.
According to Karampudi police, E. Srinivasa Rao was carrying a bag containing gold ornaments to be delivered to jewelery shops after making them as per order.
Allegedly, four unidentified people traveling on two motorcycles stopped him, attacked him and fled with the bag.
The police launched an investigation into the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
