The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has launched an investigation into the alleged stabbing of two security personnel in Thane district amid allegations that the accused was linked to “anti-national activities”, police said on Tuesday.
31-year-old chemistry teacher Jabar Ansari allegedly attacked two guards with a knife after an argument on Monday morning, April 27, 2026. It was claimed that Ansari, who had been living in the USA for a while, approached the security guards working in a building under construction on Mira Road in Naya Nagar district and sought directions to a mosque. According to the police, the victims alleged that Ansari asked them to recite ‘Kalma’ (Islamic verse) and when they failed to do so, he attacked them with a knife.
