All set for counting; ECI promises transparency

Election Commission of India (ECI) said in a statement on Sunday, May 3, 2026 that it will uphold the “highest standards of transparency, security and efficiency” during the counting of votes for the elections to be held on Monday, May 4, 2026. assam, kerala, tamil nadu, West Bengal And Puducherry and bye-elections in seven Assembly constituencies of five states.
For West Bengal, ECI has deployed 165 Additional Counting Observers to assist the Counting Observers and 77 Police Observers to ensure a “safe, peaceful, intimidation-free and transparent environment”. Political parties and fronts in the USA are also closely monitoring the census preparations, instilling confidence.
