Met Gala rocked as staff make revolting discovery hidden inside museum just hours before fashion’s biggest night

The Met Gala was rocked by a disgusting protest after staff discovered bottles of ‘urine’ inside the museum just hours before fashion’s biggest night.

Backlash against this year’s controversial Met Gala has escalated in New York City, with protests reaching fever pitch on Monday.

Anger grows with the attendance of Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos, 62, and his wife, Lauren Sanchez, 56, who financed much of the event.

Over the past 24 hours, activists have resorted to disgusting maneuvers as a last resort to push for a boycott.

Hundreds of bottles of fake urine were hidden alongside priceless artifacts throughout the Met.

Baskets containing plastic water bottles were also placed outside the museum, allowing passers-by to urinate into these bottles.

A sign on the stash read: ‘Met Gala VIP restroom. It was founded in honor of Met Gala chairman Jeff Bezos. ‘Go ahead, it’s good enough for his staff.’

The stunt was used to draw attention to Amazon’s treatment of its employees.

Everybody Hates Elon, the campaign group behind this stunt, claims that employees at Bezos’ company are forced to urinate in bottles because they are not allowed to take toilet breaks.

On Sunday, protest messages were projected onto the city’s biggest landmarks, including Bezos’ apartment block as well as the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building.

While one of the projections said ‘Boycott the Bezos Met Gala’, another said ‘No red carpet for Trump’s billionaires’.

Video messages from Amazon employees were also posted at Bezos’ Fifth Avenue penthouse, where he reportedly hosted a pre-Met Gala party.

The demonstration was again organized by the anti-billionaire campaign group, funded by 1,000 donors around the world and supported by current and former Amazon employees.

A spokesperson for Everybody Hates Elon said: ‘Amazon founder and oligarch Jeff Bezos has just finished his rooftop pre-Met Gala party and is getting ready for the big night.

‘We couldn’t let him use fame and fashion to hide his crimes. Instead we expose them.’

Bezos and Sanchez were announced as honorary co-chairs and lead sponsors of this year’s Met Gala in February.

Some fashionistas think this response, which initially highlights philanthropy, is a stain on the issue.

It was claimed that they spent $10 million to attend the event.

Backlash against this year’s Met Gala began weeks ago, with protest posters plastered across the boarded-up entrance of the now-closed Daona Deli.

The giant posters carried two bold messages. The first showed what appeared to be a plastic water bottle filled with urine on the red carpet in front of flashing camera lights.

The banner said ‘Bezos Met Gala’. ‘Brought to you by worker exploitation.’

The large, bright red poster next to it had an even harsher message written in bold white letters: ‘Bezos Boycott Met Gala.’

At the bottom of the poster, a message was shared in smaller font: ‘Nothing to embellish this.

‘Met Gala chairman Jeff Bezos is avoiding taxes, enabling ICE, and supporting Trump. Don’t let him get away with this.’

This year’s Met Gala theme is the Art of Costume and the dress code is the Art of Fashion.

While the names of Bezos and Sanchez were included in the invitations, it was reported that they would sit together with their close friend Kris Jenner, whom they invited to their summer wedding in Venice, Italy, last year.
