Doctors Raise Concerns Over Online Transfer Process

Hyderabad: The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) on Wednesday expressed concern over the ongoing online transfer process for government doctors, demanding greater transparency, clearer guidelines and consideration of physical counselling.
The association made representations to Dr B. Ravinder Nayak, Director, Public Health and Family Welfare (DPH&FW), Dr Narendra Kumar, Director of Medical Education (DME) and Dr Ajay Kumar, Commissioner, Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP), ahead of meetings convened regarding General Transfers 2026.
According to TGGDA, many doctors across the state were facing uncertainty regarding the implementation of the online transfer system. While the association appreciated the progress towards digital governance, it said many issues affecting fairness and trust among doctors needed to be urgently addressed.
Concerns identified included a lack of clarity in weight, seniority and priority criteria, and a lack of transparency in the final allocation process. The association also noted that the service challenges faced by doctors working in rural, remote and difficult areas were not adequately taken into account.
TGGDA also claimed that all existing and newly opened quotas were not shown and that this situation prevented equal opportunities for eligible doctors during consultancy. He also noted technical glitches, login issues and limited timelines affecting participation in the process.
The association demanded strict implementation of government orders protecting prominent association officials during transfers, as provided in existing rules and circulars.
TGGDA demanded an immediate review of the current online transfer system, transparent publication of all vacancies and a stronger grievance redressal mechanism with fixed timelines. It also called on the government to consider physical counseling to increase transparency and trust in the process.
The association said the involvement of representatives of doctors’ organizations would help incorporate field-level facts into the transfer process.
