Scottish election 2026: Live results map for every seat in race for Holyrood

Scotland will soon begin reporting the results of the 2026 Holyrood election, announcing the results for all 129 seats in the Scottish Parliament.

Voters in the country went to the polls on Thursday to elect 73 constituency representatives and 56 MSPs through eight regional lists.

Unlike previous elections (except 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic), votes are counted on Friday rather than overnight, and the final result will likely be known late on Friday evening.

Here’s an overview of the results in Scotland so far:

Campaigners have spent the last six weeks traveling the country in the hope of winning the keys to Bute House.

John Swinney’s SNP led the polls throughout the campaign. He told voters that his party’s majority, a rarity in the Holyrood voting system, would allow him to put further pressure on Westminster for a second referendum on independence.

YouGov’s latest pre-election poll predicts the party will win 62 seats in the contest; This number is just shy of the 65 seats needed to ensure a majority.

Reform UK looks set to gain an unprecedented foothold in the country’s politics, winning 19 MSP in its central projection, the charter pollster has revealed.

Meanwhile, Labor and the Conservatives may be preparing for their worst-ever Holyrood election, falling to 17 and seven seats respectively in the poll.

The Greens are projected to double their total seat count to 16, including potentially gaining two constituency seats. The Liberal Democrats will also double their numbers to eight seats.

The first results of local elections in England began to arrive in the early hours of Friday, revealing an already difficult situation for Sir Keir Starmer’s Labor Party.

The Prime Minister insisted that he would continue his duty despite heavy losses.

He acknowledged it had been a “difficult” night for Labor but said “days like this do not weaken my resolve to deliver the change I have promised”.

Reform England has made gains across the country, with hundreds of Labor councilors voted out, putting pressure on the prime minister.

Mr Farage said the results showed a “truly historic shift” in British politics away from the previous era dominated by Labor and the Conservatives, and vowed that “the best is yet to come” for his party.
