WA Police step up search for man missing on Bibbulmun Track
WA Police are appealing for the public’s help in finding a man last seen heading towards Bibbulmun Track in February and say they are now concerned for his safety.
Samuel Robert Whitsed, 27, traveled from Victoria to WA and was last seen walking towards the footpath with his camping gear on the Brookton Highway near the Albany Highway at Armadale on February 18.
Whitsed was thought to have planned to travel along the Brookton Highway to Mundaring but police said a green tent was found by members of the public at Canning Hut six weeks ago.
They later confirmed that it was Whitsed’s tent.
The cabin is 7.5 miles from Brookton Campground, located just off the Brookton Highway in Helena National Park.
It is stated that Whitsed is approximately 170-180 cm tall, of slim-medium build, with short brown hair and a beard.
