Man falls from Wickham Terrace hotel in Brisbane while fleeing police
An 18-year-old man died after falling six floors from a Brisbane hotel while running from police.
Officers were called to the building on Wickham Terrace in Spring Hill at around 5.50pm on Saturday after someone reported seeing a wanted man.
Police said the young man was in a unit on the sixth floor when officers arrived.
He then tried to escape to a lower floor using the unit’s balcony, but fell and suffered serious injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
In the statement made by Queensland police, it was stated that the coroner was informed and an Ethical Standards Command investigation, supervised by the Crime and Corruption Commission, was launched.
