Prince Harry to ‘double down’ after Andrew incident | Royal | News

Alex Jenkinson, 39, pleaded not guilty at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behavior to the former Duke of York to intimidate or incite unlawful violence on May 6. According to The Telegraph, Andrew was threatened by the man “wearing a balaclava” while walking his dogs near Marsh Farm, where he has been living since his release from the Royal Lodge in Windsor due to his connection to Jeffrey Epstein.

Royal journalist Tom Sykes said: “It is reasonable to assume that. [Harry] “He will be seriously concerned and will now further strengthen his position that he cannot bring his wife Meghan Markle and their children back to the UK without a comprehensive security package.”

Under current regulations, the Duke of Sussex is required to give thirty days’ notice before the start of the visit; The Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) will then make a decision on a case-by-case basis regarding the security provided.

Harry has previously said he “can’t see a world” in which he could bring his wife and two children back to the UK without extensive protection.

He added: “I think it’s really sad that I won’t be able to show my homeland to my children.”

The prince’s case was also strengthened when a known stalker managed to get within reach of his feet twice during a visit to London last year.

Mr Sykes said although giving the former employee royal taxpayer-funded protection was unpopular, it would be “catastrophic” if something happened to him and his family if there was inadequate provision.

“If anything had happened, it would have been disastrous not just for Harry but for the United Kingdom, the monarchy and the country’s reputation around the world,” he wrote in an op-ed for the Daily Beast.

“It’s time to separate status from security. But just because Harry is stupid doesn’t mean he has to be insecure.”

Jenkinson is expected to stand trial for the alleged attack on Andrew on July 29, with the former duke giving evidence via a video link.
