People urged ‘avoid the area’ after tragic discovery on Whiterocks bea | UK | News

Emergency responders rushed to a beauty center in England after a body was found in the area. PSNI officers were called to the Whiterocks coast in Northern Ireland on Sunday 17 May following the tragic discovery.

A spokesman for the force said: “Police are currently at the scene following the discovery of a body on Whiterocks beach today, Sunday 17 May.” The PSNI is urging the public to avoid the area and says cordons have been put in place.

The statement continued: “Cordons are in place and the public is asked to avoid the area at this time.”

Causeway Coast Deputy Mayor and Glens District Council Alderman Richard Brown Stewart expressed his regret and praised the work of emergency services. BelfastLive reports.

He said: “I was deeply saddened to learn this morning that a body had been found in Whiterocks. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased at what will be an incredibly difficult and distressing time for them.

“I would also like to express my gratitude to the emergency services and everyone who responded to the incident with professionalism, dignity and care.

“I would ask people to respect the family’s privacy as investigations continue.”
