Arsenal: Premier League title win gives fans bragging rights

Arsenal have one of the loudest fan bases on social media, which can lead to intense scrutiny from rival fans when things don’t go their way.
A Manchester City fan recently went viral celebrating victory with an Arsenal water bottle; this was a reference to Arteta ‘bottling’ the title after three consecutive runners-up finishes.
Following Arsenal’s defeat at the Etihad Stadium in April, City fans held up a banner reading “Panic in the streets of London”, but Arsenal fans used all of this to fuel their celebrations.
“I went to the stadium and even though I was there for all the celebrations last night I have to say it still feels a bit surreal. I know the Arsenal team were there too,” fan Scarlet Katz Roberts said.
“I’m not sure it will feel real until Martin Odegaard lifts the trophy over his head, and it feels weird even saying that.
“So I would say there’s a huge sense of relief, but there’s also this weird emptiness of ‘wow, what do I do now? I don’t have to worry about this anymore’.”
Arsenal will hold a championship march on Sunday, May 31, regardless of the outcome of the Champions League final.
And this is the first championship success the Scarlet can remember at the age of 27. He was just five years old when he went to the Arsenal parade to celebrate the ‘Invincibles’ in 2004.
He added: “I have no idea what’s normal and what’s proportionate for a championship celebration. All I can say is, you know, there was a lovely atmosphere in that crowd last night.”
“I think we’ve been waiting a long time, especially given the circumstances of this season and how I feel it’s as much a media season as it is a football season.
“What people actually do about Arsenal is as important as what they say about them, or that’s how the fan base feels.
“We were ridiculed, criticized throughout, and it only relented at the point when we famously lifted the trophy.”
