NEET UG Fee Refund Portal Goes Live; NTA Issues Deadline Till May 27

New Delhi: National Testing Agency (NTA) has activated a special facility on the NEET (UG)-2026 registration portal for candidates to submit their bank account details for processing of exam fee refunds. The agency also stated that the deadline for submitting details is May 27, 2026 (by 23:50). NTA said the facility has been made available on the NEET-UG registration portal for all candidates eligible for the refund process. He added that candidates will need to log in using their credentials to access the refund link and submit their bank account details.

NTA stated that candidates can also upload the canceled check if they wish, in order to ensure the accuracy of their bank account information. However, it was announced that this option is not mandatory. The agency also said that once candidates submit their bank information, the information will be considered final information and no other changes will be allowed. He also directed the candidates to carefully fill in all the required information mentioned in Annexure-1. Further, “Candidates can log in to the NEET (UG) registration portal using their login details and click on the refund link to access the refund portal and submit their bank account details there. Candidates can also upload a canceled check if they wish, to ensure the accuracy of their bank account details. Once the details are submitted by the candidate, these will be considered final and no further changes will be allowed thereafter. Candidates are required to fill the details mentioned in Annexure I.”
NTA also stated that the facility for sending bank account information will remain active until 23:50 from May 22 to May 27. Candidates were advised not to request chargebacks for their exam fees. “The facility to submit bank account details will be active from 22 May 2026 to 27 May 2026 (till 23:50). Candidates are advised not to initiate chargebacks for the NEET (UG)-2026 Exam,” the agency said. Meanwhile, the re-examination was announced after allegations of irregularities and a paper leak emerged in the earlier NEET-UG exam, sparking outrage among students and parents and prompting multiple investigations, including a CBI probe. Political tensions have risen amid protests against NEET UG 2026, which was canceled on May 12 following allegations of coordinated paper leaks. More than 22 lakh candidates appeared for the exam, which was held on May 3 in 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
The Union Education Ministry has ordered strengthened security measures for the re-examination scheduled to be held on June 21. Officials also stated that to prevent such irregularities, NEET-UG will be conducted in computer-based testing (CBT) mode from next year.
