The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday, May 24, 2026, has once again extended the deadline for students seeking scanned copies of answer books assessed for Class 12 board exams and the last date has been revised to midnight on May 25.

CBSE had earlier extended the application deadline from May 22 to May 23 and then to May 24 and has now extended it till May 25 midnight following complaints from students about difficulties in accessing scanned copies of answer books through the portal.

In the circular, the Board said, “As a continuation of the circular dated 22.05.2026, the deadline has been extended to give students sufficient time to request to receive scanned copies of the evaluated answer books.” It was said.

While the board advised candidates to use the extended period and submit their applications accordingly, it clarified that “all other terms and conditions of the facility remain unchanged.”

In the circular, “It was stated that the start date of accepting re-evaluation requests will be announced soon.”

CBSE had earlier initiated the process of re-evaluation and verification of answer sheets, citing concerns of some students and parents regarding the On-Screen Marking system.

Earlier today, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and sought support from her ministry to overhaul the CBSE payment gateway system, officials said.

During the meeting, it was decided that four public sector banks (PSBs), State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank and Indian Bank would assist CBSE in strengthening the payment gateway infrastructure and ensuring necessary integration with the post-exam portal, the education ministry said in a statement.

The ministry said Mr. Pradhan also directed a delegation of professors and technical experts from IIT-Madras and IIT-Kanpur to examine all technical issues reported since the launch of revaluation services this year and assist CBSE in ensuring a smooth process.

Mr. Pradhan sought a detailed report from CBSE following complaints regarding technical glitches faced by students and parents during the re-evaluation process, a source said on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

“Taking serious notice of the complaints raised by students and parents over technical glitches during the CBSE re-evaluation process, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has sought a detailed report on server outage, payment gateway glitches and operational disruptions,” the source said.

They added that officials have been instructed to explain the reasons behind the technical malfunctions, the preparatory measures and the accountability of the institutions involved in managing the process.
