Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh visited the Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysuru on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, and apologized to the deity in line with his assurance to the Karnataka High Court.
Dhurandhar The star’s visit to the temple came after he submitted a written apology to the Supreme Court for “mocking” the sacred daiva tradition depicted in the movie Kantara Part-1.
Mr. Singh reached the hilltop shrine early in the morning before devotees started arriving. Chamundeshwari Temple Chief Executive MJ Roopa said, “He came unannounced without warning us. He came wearing a mask like an ordinary devotee when there were not many people around.”

The actor, who arrived at the temple around 7.30 in the morning, introduced himself to the temple priest Sunil and informed him that he had come to apologize to the god. He added that the priest took him to Garbha Gudi (sanctum sanctorum) where he recited special prayers.
Mr. Singh left the shrine immediately after finishing the prayers. “He had left the building even before devotees started showing up,” Ms. Roopa added.
