UK weather: When will the heatwave end?

Although temperatures will still rise to 27°C in London and south-east England, 28°C will not be needed for the heatwave to officially continue.
But Wales and the south-west of England will remain quite warm, away from the cool air moving in. High temperatures here can still reach 30C.
On Thursday, the supply of cold air will be cut off due to the renewed increase in warm air coming from France. This means temperatures will rise, with 30C on the cards.
Most forecast models show cold weather gradually returning from Friday through the weekend.
The jet stream currently to our north will wobble southwards, meaning areas of low pressure, occasional rain, stronger winds and a drop in temperature as we enter the first week of June.
