He explained his decision to sign with MLW, suggesting that it was the right time and right place for him.
“When my contract with WWE ended, I wasn’t in a rush to sign anywhere,” he explained to Fox News Digital. “It reminds me of when you get tired of dating and you’re like, ‘Oh, I’m not looking for a relationship,’ and that’s when you find the love of your life. … I started wrestling for MLW, they were one of the first companies to hit me up when my contract was up.”
“They brought me in right away and they understood my character right away, and I was having so much fun that when they asked me to sign a contract, I said, ‘You know what? Yeah, let’s make it official.'”
Shotzi said that he had one of the most fun moments in his professional wrestling career.
