Josh Jacobs dispatch audio captures yelling, things thrown before arrest

The released dispatch audio added some context to the alleged domestic violence incident involving Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs; one of which came from his home in Wisconsin.

Sound obtained by TMJ 4It reveals that a dispatcher spoke to a police officer about “yells and screams” he could hear over the open line at Jacobs’ home.

The dispatcher tells the dispatcher, “Something is being thrown, the line is open.” “…Probably a man and a woman.”

Audio of a second call was then added as a dispatcher described a neighbor calling about what they could hear from Jacobs’ home.

“The neighbor is calling now and saying his neighbor was attacked,” the police officer called out.

When authorities arrived at Jacobs’ home, he was not there. He left the scene in his Mercedes G-Wagon, although police followed his license plate readers. A call was made to stop the vehicle if it was seen on the road.

Jacobs was arrested Tuesday following an investigation by the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department and booked on five charges related to domestic abuse.

Jacobs was booked into the Brown County Jail on charges of domestic violence, domestic abuse, destruction of property, disorderly conduct in domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidating the victim, the department said in a statement. Strangulation and strangulation are felonies, while the other four are misdemeanors, according to Brown County Jail records.

The statement stated that the investigation is active and ongoing.

Jacobs’ attorneys, David Z. Chesnoff and Clarence Duchac, say the 28-year-old denies all charges.

“Josh vehemently denies the allegations and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with significant evidence that has not yet been made public,” the attorneys’ statement said. The statement was included.

“We want justice and moderation while the judicial process continues.”

The NFL was made aware of the situation and contacted the Packers. Green Bay also told The Athletic it would not comment due to the ongoing investigation into the matter.

Jacobs finished his second season with the Packers and had 929 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on 1,234 carries in 2025. In 2024, in his first season up north, he threw for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns on 301 attempts to lead the Packers in receiving yards.

Jacobs, who spent five seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders before Green Bay, led the league in rushing yards in the past. During the 2022 season, he passed for 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns in a 17-game stretch.
