Woman, friend arrested for husband’s murder in Bengaluru

Bengaluru police arrested a 21-year-old woman and her boyfriend for allegedly killing her husband and disposing of his body to destroy evidence.

The accused have been identified as 21-year-old Archana Chauhan, a native of Uttar Pradesh, and her friend Parul Pal, a security guard from Tripura. It was stated that the deceased was Abhijith Pandit.

According to police, the incident occurred on May 27. Pal and his friends allegedly strangled Pandit with a rope while partying. They later dumped the body near a lake in Linganahalli in Hesaraghatta. Archana allegedly aided Pal in the crime.

The next day, Archana filed a missing complaint at Rajanakunte Police Station. Despite continuous efforts, the police failed to obtain any clue and subsequently interrogated Archana and Pal as the three were working together.

An investigator investigating the case said: Hindu He said both defendants gave questionable answers and confessed to the crime after intense interrogation. Based on their statements, the police recovered the body from the place where it was disposed of.

“Archana and Abhijith had gotten married three years ago and were working as security guards along with Pal at Ittagallapura in Rajanakunte. He became suspicious of Archana and Pal as they spent a significant amount of time together,” the officer said. “He confronted Archana and asked her not to meet Pal, which made him angry. He informed Pal, after which he allegedly planned and carried out the Pandit murder,” he added.
