The explosion occurred on March 19 during the production of crude bombs and caused the death of a bomb manufacturer and the injury of many people.

The fourth accused arrested in the case, the former MLA, was the key conspirator who instructed the other accused to make the bomb, the NIA revealed during the investigation.
