PMJ Dacoity Accused Misled Probe: Karimnagar CP

ADILABAD: Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaush Alam on Sunday said the accused in the PMJ jewelery store dacoity tried to mislead investigators by hiding important details about stolen ornaments and financial transactions.
Subodh Singh said the accused, identified as Raghunath Karmakar and Ravish Kumar, were interrogated between June 3 and 7, during which they did not disclose where the gold and diamond jewelery were kept or to whom they were sold.
Police said there were inconsistencies in the statements of A-1, A-2 and A-3. The commissioner said a petition will be filed in the Karimnagar court seeking more police surveillance for further investigation.
He said that A-2 retracted the earlier allegation that the stolen property was hidden in the Gundala forest area and claimed that the accused had deliberately provided misleading information.
Based on the information provided by the accused, police recovered two pistols from the bushes near Velichala ring road and a mobile phone from the forest area under Maddunur gram panchayat in Buggaram mandal.
Police also said that A-10, identified as Amarsingh (43), was arrested from Salimpur in Bihar’s Patna district on a warrant and brought to Karimnagar.
The investigation continues.
