England’s temporary Florida camp was hit by a 6.1 magnitude earthquake and buildings in Orlando, where the Three Lions will play Costa Rica on Wednesday, were evacuated.
Local reports did not record any damage or injuries, but some videos on social media showed furniture moving and shaking a bit.
But Thomas Tuchel & Co’s preparations may have been shaken when the shockwaves of the earthquake off the coast of Cuba were felt hundreds of kilometers away in Florida.
An earthquake of this magnitude has not been seen in the region since 1880, when a 6.0 magnitude tremor occurred near the Cuban city of San Cristobal.
Mexican holiday destinations such as Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Tulum were also affected; Emergency protocols were activated in the states of Yucatan and Quintana Roo, but neither governor reported any damage on social media. Tremors were even felt at Disney World in Orlando.
Tremors were felt as far north as Tallahassee; The US Geological Survey evaluated the earthquake as the second largest earthquake on record.

The England team has been in Florida since June 1, preparing for the opening match of their friendly against New Zealand.
After their match against Costa Rica at Inter&Co Stadium, the team will return to Kansas City, where they will work throughout the tournament.
But before then, England will have to contend with the Florida elements once again, with storms expected during the game in Orlando.
Tuchel’s camp has been subjected to a series of existential, uncontrollable events since arriving in the United States.
On Monday, reports emerged that nine people were injured in a shooting near England’s Kansas training base, just days before the players were due to return to training just four miles away.
