Todd Graves, owner and founder of Raising Cane, recently admitted that he doesn’t like the coleslaw served at his chicken fingers chain.
Graves made this statement Instagram interview Content creator Joe Bonham asked him about Cane’s order.
“Box Combo, no coleslaw, extra toast and extra sauce,” the CEO replied.

“You don’t make coleslaw?” asked Bonham.
Graves replied, “I don’t like coleslaw, man, so I’m trading it.”

Bonham told Graves that no one likes coleslaw, and Graves shrugged.
“Every once in a while, someone comes along who likes it, but I’m not crazy about coleslaw, so swap it for toast,” he said.
“If you try to be everything to everyone, you won’t be perfect to anyone.”
Bonham continued by asking whose idea it was to add the coleslaw.
Graves said he wanted a “vegetable component to the meal” and that coleslaw was “a Southern thing, but I don’t care.”
The viral video has garnered 8.5 million views, 457,000 likes and more than 4,000 comments.

A 3.1-ounce serving of Raising Cane’s coleslaw has 100 calories, according to the restaurant’s website. The chain promotes the menu item as “crisp, creamy and freshly prepared.”

“If you try to be everything to everyone, you can’t be perfect to anyone,” Graves told Fox News Digital.
“So we focus on serving savory chicken finger dishes and doing it better than anyone else, which is why you never see limited-time offers or new items popping in and out of the menu. I always say, don’t fix what ain’t broke. Our coleslaw isn’t going anywhere.”
There are numerous Reddit forums discussing Cane’s coleslaw. “The coleslaw is the best part of Raising Cane’s” posted on the r/unpopularopinion subreddit.

“Why do they make coleslaw?” I wondered about a poster on the r/RaisingCanes forum.
“Anyone here eat coleslaw? I always go for that for extra toast/fries,” someone wrote on the same forum.
““I get asked all the time if I’m going to add anything else to the menu, and my answer is no,” Graves told Fox News Digital.
“We’ve been using the same menu since I opened the doors of the first Raising Cane’s in Baton Rouge almost 30 years ago: chicken fingers, Cane’s Dip, coleslaw, Cane’s French fries, and crinkle-cut fries. This focused menu means our team can focus on one thing and do it better than anyone else.”
The restaurant’s ethos centers around the “one love” principle, which “allows us to create the perfect box combination that’s served hot, fast and fresh every time,” according to Graves.

“When I first created the menu, I wanted to give people something they could switch to so they could opt for extra fries, extra Cane’s Sauce or extra Texas toast,” Graves added.
“Coleslaw gives them the element they need to create their perfect box. And if someone personally loves coleslaw, that’s great too!”
