EAGLE IGP urges parents to spend time with children

Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE) chairman and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ake Ravi Krishna has urged parents to spend time with their children and create a positive family environment at home to prevent them from getting involved in bad habits.

The IGP said that if children are neglected, they may become addicted to vices and ruin their lives. He also warned parents to pay attention to their children’s movements.

Mr. Ravi Krishna, along with EAGLE Superintendent of Police (Operations) KM Maheswara Raju, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP-Rural) B. Lakshminarayana, Mylavaram Deputy Commissioner of Police P. Ramachandra Rao, attended ‘Palle Batalo EAGLE’ at Vellaturu village in G. Konduru mandal, NTR District, on Sunday.

The IGP, who attended an awareness program against narcotics, marijuana and other drugs, said some students accused in drug dealing and consumption cases were ruining their lives by spending time in prisons.

“EAGLE comes to villages to interact with village people, community elders, youth, students and parents. I request all mothers to join hands and make Andhra Pradesh a drug-free State,” Mr. Ravi Krishna said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Maheswara Raju said that EAGLE has sent several drug addicts to anti-addiction centers and is taking all measures to put an end to the trafficking of marijuana and synthetic drugs.

“To stop drug trafficking, EAGLE conducts raids on trains, near educational institutions, medical shops and sets up EAGLE Clubs in schools and colleges. Anyone with any information about drug trafficking can call 1972 and alert officers,” said Mr. Maheswara Raju.

Later, Police, Education, Revenue, EAGLE and other department officials asked the villagers about the problems they were experiencing in Vellaturu and surrounding villages.
